Ghana x Pakistan Chitral Kush F2 – Distinctive Sativa-Indica Hybrid with Selection Potential

An exceptional crossbreeding project between West Africa and Pakistan

Ghana x Pakistan Chitral Kush F2 is the result of an exciting hybridization between two contrasting landrace lines: a presumably pure Sativa from Ghana and a proven Purple Chitral Kush (PCK) from Pakistan. This cross combines the characteristic appearance and structure of a tropical Sativa with the robustness, compactness, and resilience of a selected Indica-dominant line. The result is a promising, genetically diverse F2 generation, especially valuable for growers interested in personal selection and original genetics.

Origin of the Parental Genetics

The Ghanaian line originated from four seeds brought back as a souvenir from a trip to West Africa to Germany. Due to limited germination, only one female plant could be cultivated, which quickly stood out for its pronounced Sativa-like traits: narrow leaflets about 1 cm wide, large foliage, an airy structure with flexible yet stable side branches, and a late flowering phase that began around mid-September. The plant was harvested fully matured on December 17 — despite rain, frost, and the first snowfall — showing no signs of mold or weather-related damage.

As no male plant from the Ghanaian line was available, it was pollinated with a proven PCK (Purple Chitral Kush) in its third generation. The selected PCK was a purple phenotype with intense berry-like and fizzy aromas. This line is known for its robustness and early flowering — with average harvest readiness around October 20 — and has already proven itself as a reliable stabilizer in numerous Sativa hybrid projects.

About the F2 Generation

From the F1 generation, one mother plant was selected that retained many traits of the original Ghanaian line. These include an elegant, upright growth pattern and a terpene profile leaning toward warm, woody notes. As typical for an F2 generation, this offspring shows significant genetic segregation — resulting in a wide range of phenotypes. Aromas vary from warm-woody to fruity-berry. Visual differences are also notable: some plants show reddish-purple flowers and stems, others maintain a classic green appearance with a tropical structure.

This diversity makes Ghana x PCK F2 an ideal base for ambitious breeding and selection projects. The seed pack is intentionally designed for this purpose and contains at least 15 seeds to offer sufficient range and comparison opportunities.

Cultivation Notes

Plants from this cross exhibit vigorous, sturdy growth outdoors and demonstrate high resilience to challenging weather conditions. They show stable tolerance to prolonged drought, heat, and high humidity. Particularly noteworthy is their mold resistance, even during late flowering. Depending on the phenotype, harvest time ranges from mid-October to early November. These plants are generally low-maintenance, although the diversity of the F2 generation requires attentive observation and selection by the grower.

First aromatic indicators of genetic tendencies can often be identified even in young plants: rubbing the stem may reveal signature scents. Warm woody notes suggest the Ghana phenotype, while fruity, fizzy aromas and red-tinged internodes or petioles point to a stronger Pakistani influence.
