25 Years of Passion for Cannabis Breeding, Diversity and Responsibility
For over 25 years, I have devoted myself with great passion to cannabis breeding. Like many others, I first encountered cannabis through the black market at a young age. But it quickly became clear to me that I didn’t want to settle for anonymous products and questionable quality.
That’s how my path into self-cultivation began, driven by a desire for autonomy and access to high-quality, traceable plant material. What started as a practical decision quickly developed into a deep fascination with the diversity, beauty, and resilience of this extraordinary plant — a passion that still drives me today.
Independence as a Core Value – Breeding as a Way of Life
The criminalization of cannabis has deeply shaped my relationship with the plant. The resulting challenges, especially in accessing good seeds, made it clear to me how important independence and self-reliance are — not only in the garden, but in life as a whole.
For me, breeding is not just about selection, but about responsibility: preserving genetic diversity, ensuring fair access, and treating a living cultural asset with respect.
Focus on Landraces – Preserving Genetic Diversity
In addition to cultivating tried-and-tested hybrids, my focus has increasingly shifted over the years toward pure landraces and original genetics. The thought of how many of these valuable lines have already been lost deeply moved me — and motivated me to actively contribute to the preservation and continuation of these varieties.
Today, the conservation, propagation, and archiving of rare landraces is a central element of my work. I see it not only as a botanical duty but as a commitment to future generations — breeders, growers, and consumers alike.
Natural Cultivation – Outdoor Growing, Regenerative Cycles & Climate Resilience
All of my breeding takes place exclusively outdoors. I firmly believe that only under natural conditions can robust and climate-adapted plants truly develop.
All plants grow within a system of regenerative agriculture. Nearly all resources — from soil and compost to water and pest control — come directly from my own garden. This nature-based approach not only strengthens the plants themselves but also supports healthy soils and ecosystems.
Community as Foundation – Thanks to Fellow Growers
Although I carry out most tasks on my own, I am part of a vibrant network of people dedicated to the preservation and development of seed diversity.
My heartfelt thanks go to all the friends who cultivate my seeds with trust, share their insights, and care for the often-overlooked male plants. Only by consciously preserving them can we maintain long-term genetic lines and develop new, stable hybrids.
I also thank all the breeders around the world who work with passion to protect traditional varieties in their regions — actively countering the consequences of overbreeding and commercialization, which sadly often come under the guise of “professional breeding.”
Philosophy & Values – True Diversity Grows in Small Gardens
Influenced by my systemic education and background in environmental education, I see breeding as part of a larger picture. I am committed to values such as freedom, responsibility, and ecological self-determination — an approach that may appear unassuming but is deeply sustainable.
Every breeder inevitably leaves a fingerprint on what they create. I am convinced that true sustainability can only arise from true diversity. And real diversity can only thrive in many small, dedicated gardens — with time, care, and deep respect for life.
Seeds with Soul – For Today and Tomorrow
My goal is to preserve and share authentic, stable cannabis seeds — varieties that tell stories, adapted to their environments, and free from industrial standardization.
Let us work together to protect this genetic heritage — for the future of the plant, for the future of our gardens, and for a self-determined cannabis culture.
