Aroma and flavour

The terpene profile is complex and layered: dominant notes of fresh pine, lime and ground black pepper meet a fruity, tropical counterpart of pink grapefruit and sweet skunk. The main terpenes are alpha- and beta-pinene, beta-caryophyllene, myrcene and trans-nerolidol; together they create a spicy, citrusy bouquet with sweet tropical depth and a subtle earthy, diesel finish.

Genetics & origin

Black Lime Reserve was developed by Aficionado Seeds in Mendocino County, Northern California, as the first breeding collaboration between Mean Gene and Leo Stone. It is a cross of the heirloom strain Black Lime, whose lineage goes back to Northern Lights and old Afghani, Oaxacan and Burmese landraces, and Chemdawg Special Reserve (Elite Chemdawg #4 × Stardawg).

Sweet Skunk has been grown on Vancouver Island in British Columbia for decades. The original strain was developed by Federation Seeds from Sweet Pink Grapefruit and Big Skunk #1 and later carried on by Next Generation Seed Company. With an 80% sativa share, it brings a tropical aroma profile and strong growth vigour to the cross.

Cultivation

This hybrid is mainly suited to indoor growing. For outdoor growing in Germany, the strain is only suitable with permanent rain protection or in a greenhouse.
