Satori fem (Mandala Seeds) – Feminized Sativa from Nepal

Satori fem is the feminized edition of Satori from Mandala Seeds, one of the best-known sativas since 2005. For it, Mandala went back to the original parent lines. What remains is the vigour, the heavy and compact buds and the inspiring, long-lasting high.

What is Satori fem?

The feminized edition shows two phenotypes. One is the familiar sativa-leaning type of the regular Satori. The other is the “pagoda” type with dark green foliage, broader sugar leaves and triangular calyx clusters at the internodes.

The pagoda type is especially resinous and, according to Mandala, delivers the strongest effect and the best material for hash.

Growing: what to expect

Flowering takes 65 to 75 days, with the outdoor harvest in October. Indoors, about four weeks of vegetative growth from seed is enough, about three in hydro. The slim structure allows narrow rows and SOG, and Mandala advises against defoliation.

Satori takes up nutrients efficiently and gets by on a low EC, and with good soil even without extra fertiliser. Mature plants tolerate up to 45 °C. Light is the one place not to save, because only strong lighting shows its full potential.

Mix 10–15% worm castings into the soil
Start in 4–5 l pots and move to at least 8 l for flowering once the small pot is rooted through
Start seedlings under 250 W HPS and switch to more light after two to three weeks
In flower, use 400–600 W HPS per m² or a professional LED
Indoors: 550–600 g/m² dry yield in organic soil, outdoors 850–1,200 g per plant (breeder’s figures)

Aroma

The aroma is mainly sweet and fruity with a spicy note. According to the breeder’s lab analysis, myrcene dominates, alongside high levels of alpha- and beta-pinene. Caryophyllene, humulene, ocimene and linalool round out the profile.

Depending on the plant, the range runs from tropical fruit and candy through pine and cinnamon to sandalwood and incense.

Effect

The breeder states 23–28% THC. The high comes on quickly and lasts for hours even at small amounts. According to Mandala, it is stimulating and focused during the day and moves more into the body in the evening.
