What is Kalichakra?

Kalichakra grows in the classic Christmas-tree shape with medium to long internodes and an open structure, so light reaches every flowering site. Mother plants give plenty of cuttings. According to Mandala, the phenotype with one long main cola is especially sought after, for yield as well as for a mother.

Growing: what to expect

Flowering takes 65 to 68 days, and some seed plants form even fatter buds with one more week. Cuttings tend to finish earlier. With four weeks of vegetative growth indoors, most plants stay at 100–120 cm.

It takes well to tying down and SCROG, but training is only needed when height is limited. It can also be run in SOG. The high calyx-to-leaf ratio makes harvesting quick, and mould resistance is good.

Aroma

Most plants form fragrant buds with a sweet, minty taste and fruity notes.

Effect

The breeder states 17–19% THC. The high comes on slowly and stays gentle. According to Mandala, this makes it a good choice for people sensitive to a racing heart or anxiety. It lifts the mood and keeps you functional and social, often with a warm body feeling.

Who it’s for

Kalichakra suits indoor growers who want a sativa of manageable height with little odour. In hot, warm-temperate and tropical regions it also plays to its origins outdoors.
