Baglung Nepalese 2025 – A unique seed mix from targeted aroma reselection and strategic backcross. Maximum genetic diversity, exceptional aroma spectrums and new color expressions for the next generation of sativa outdoor hybrids. Only 55 packs available.
Preservation Breeding with Vision
This limited edition is part of a long-term breeding project for preservation and refinement of Baglung Nepalese genetics. Our overarching goal: To preserve a diverse, robust Himalayan line that serves as a first-class crossing partner for next-generation sativa outdoor hybrids.
The Genetic Timeline
Line A (2016) – The Foundation:
From 5 retail packs of Baglung Nepalese, our first own reproduction emerged. The best plants were open pollinated – this line forms the genetic foundation for all subsequent developments.
Line B – 5 Generations of Climate Adaptation:
Starting from Line A, consistent selection for early maturation, cold resistance and reliability under German outdoor conditions was performed. Last year’s keeper lady represents the current state of this adaptation work. Important: Through this work, we know exactly which characteristics and smells we no longer want – this knowledge flows directly into the reselection.
Line C (2025) – Back to Origins with New Strategy:
Instead of breeding linearly forward, we went back to Line A. This time with clear focus: Preservation and maximization of genetic diversity. We’re not just looking for exceptional smells, but also different effect profiles, new color expressions and phenotypic breadth. From the beginning, preselection was done by stem smell and strictly sorted by aroma – everything undesirable from the Line B experience was consistently eliminated.
Diversity as Breeding Goal
In the reselection (Line C), the focus was not on stabilization, but conscious preservation of genetic differences. We searched for:
- Exceptional aroma profiles: Peach, strawberry, mango, Hubba Bubba bubblegum, hashish, woody notes, anise, pinenes (forest-piney)
- Different effects: From clear sativa high to nuanced effect profiles
- New color expressions: Beyond the known pink-purple tones
- Structural diversity: Different growth patterns, flower structures, maturation times
Everything herbal, peppery, or known as undesirable from Line B was consistently eliminated. What remained: A genetically broad, aromatically exceptional line with maximum selection potential.
The Strategic Backcross – Line D
The keeper lady from Line B (5× climate-adapted) was pollinated with males from the reselection Line C. This backcross combines:
- Genetic refresh: Bringing back lost diversity into the adapted line
- Hybrid vigor: Combines proven climate resistance with new genetic breadth
- Breeder’s tool: Ideal starting point for own selection and crossing projects
- Sativa hybrid potential: Perfect crossing partner for upcoming outdoor projects
This is the keeper lady Line B from 2024, which was pollinated by the males from Line C to create Line D
What’s in the Pack?
Each pack contains a mix of two lines:
- Line C: Open pollinated reselection – maximum diversity, exceptional aromas, new color expressions
- Line D: Backcross (keeper lady Line B × males Line C) – diversity meets climate adaptation
This combination offers the best of both worlds: Genetic breadth from the reselection plus proven outdoor characteristics from the adapted line.
Extremely Limited – Only 55 Packs
This seed run occurred under difficult conditions. Only 55 packs exist of this unique mix – an absolute rarity. Each pack documents a turning point in our Baglung breeding history: The moment when we consciously bring back genetic diversity to keep the line open and vital for future generations.
