Strawberry (IBL)

The Strawberry (IBL) strain is a Swiss classic that has been refined by my friend Knospe and preserved in seed form. About two-thirds of the plants represent the original clone very well. This strain combines two characteristics that rarely come together: exceptional resilience and the ability to form compact, rock-hard buds. From the very beginning of bud formation, you can tell that it’s different from other strains. The plants produce firm, dense buds that look like small rocks.

The harvest time is in the first week of October at the 52nd parallel (@52N), making it ideal for outdoor cultivation in temperate climate zones. Despite the name Strawberry, this strain doesn’t smell like strawberries. The name refers more to the shape of the buds. Its scent is rather subtle and earthy, with slightly hashy notes, which isn’t its greatest strength. The high is also less impressive, affecting the body more than the mind and is not among the strains preferred for consumption.

The true strength of the Strawberry lies in its breeding qualities. It reliably passes on its robustness and ability to form extremely compact buds. Those who want to breed with this strain can select a robust mother plant that lives up to the old stories about this strain.

The version from Helvetic Seeds hasn’t quite lived up to the original reputation of the strain, which is why it’s recommended to select your own breeding mother.
