Ultra Early Sativa (UELsativa X UELsativa X UELbrother) – Early Outdoor Sativa with Colombian Origin

Ultra Early Love (UEL) is an exceptional outdoor strain with characteristics lacking in many other cannabis varieties. Its intense aroma remains even after drying the flowers. The plants develop compact, resistant buds and show a long-lasting effect. Due to its high light sensitivity, it is often ready for harvest from late September to early October at the 52nd parallel.

The UEL was entrusted to me in 2016 for further breeding and marked the beginning of an intense connection. I was particularly fascinated by its Colombian background, as I was searching for an ideal outdoor sativa – hoping to have found the “holy grail”. Despite the positive growing characteristics, the high proved introspective and elusive.

The Origin of UELsativa

In 2018, I discovered a thin-leaved phenotype that stood out not only for its appearance but also for its faster growth. I named it UELsativa. This plant was not easy to handle – it requires sufficient root space and shows hesitant flowering when restricted – but the unique Colombian high was unmistakable.

Since then, I clone it regularly and regenerate it outdoors. The high of UELsativa is distinctly sativa-dominant and offers an authentic sativa experience compared to Indica or hybrid lines. For some, it might be too strong in the aftereffect – which is why I personally prefer crosses with it.

Breeding Goal Development

My goal was to capture the special characteristics of UELsativa in a stable seed line. After two years of selective self-breeding, a line with male and female plants emerged. In the current season, I have specifically pollinated the best mother plants with selected males. The resulting S1 line still shows some variation, but the desired high of the mother plant is already noticeably present.

The mother plant was replaced by a selected offspring clone, which I currently call UES “B11”. To clearly distinguish this line from more introspective UEL phenotypes, I am now officially renaming it Ultra Early Sativa – maintaining a connection to its origin.
