Origin & History

This rare landrace variety originally comes from the Baglung region in the Nepalese Himalayas. Blue Hemp collected and preserved this genetic line since the 1980s and successfully adapted it to the Swiss as well as Central European climate. Through decades of preservation breeding, the authentic character of this traditional mountain variety was maintained while simultaneously improving adaptability to cooler climate zones.
